It’s a new month, summer is here so let’s get

It’s a new month, summer is here so let’s get you all back training! We offer 24 classes per week, keep class sizes small & we follow strict Covid-19 protocols to minimize risks. There’s a maximum number of members allowed in the space and we strictly adhere to physical distancing in every class. We avoid all partner work & padwork is conducted only with coaches. Members are screened at the entrance and nobody is allowed to come inside if displaying symptoms. All heavy bag stations & mats are disinfected after every class & we clean all high touch surfaces regularly throughout the day. We go above & beyond provincial health guidelines so you can feel safe in our space. If we lost you as a member during the shutdown, come back & see how we’ve changed our procedures to make our gym the safest in the city!

We are closed for all classes on Wednesday, July 1 for the Canada Day Holiday.

I signed the 1st lease to our 1st location on June

I signed the 1st lease to our 1st location on June 26, 1999 which makes Westside Kickboxing 21 years old today!! Honestly it’s an odd time to feel self congratulatory, but I would rather express my gratitude to everyone who’s ever stepped on our mats and allowed me to be part of their journey. That’s a large number of years but it really doesn’t feel all that long. When you love it, you’re passionate about it & you throw 100% of yourself into it...well 21 years seems like 21 weeks. And it’s because you’ve all made it easy, you’ve all made it fulfilling and you’ve all made Westside Kickboxing what it is today. Thank you all for 21 years of business. Thank you for 21 years of blood, sweat & tears. And thank you for filling up my heart for the majority of my adult life. Thank you all.

For those wondering how we safely deal with shared

For those wondering how we safely deal with shared equipment like skipping ropes (or medicine balls, kettle bells, etc) here’s our procedure: (1) We spray your hands with sanitizer before you choose a rope. (2) Choose rope off wall. (3) Skipping!! (4) Place rope on cleaning tarp when done. (5) We disinfect all ropes. (6) We wipe down ropes. (7) We replace rope on wall.
