On Losing

It didn’t quite work out for us last night as Andrey was stopped in the 1st round via TKO. I must give 100% respect and credit to Kentarou and his team. You were the better fighter last night and deserve the victory. Andrey, I have nothing but love & respect for your courage, work ethic and ability. It wasn’t our night but I’m 1000% sure you’ll come back better & that championship belt will be yours soon. It’s not about getting knocked down, it’s all about getting up & coming back better than ever. Thanks to Battlefield for having us on another excellent show. Thanks to everyone (over 70 of you!!) who came out to support, your roar truly was loud & proud. Thanks to everyone for their messages of encouragement before & after the fight. And EXTRA special thanks to everyone that came back to the gym to wind down, eat, drink and share in a whole bunch of laughs. We were down coming off that result, but a few hours with you all reminded me what it’s all about. It’s about the team, our family and our support for each other through thick & thin. Wins are awesome and losses truly do suck but at the end of the day, the friendship & bond that we share makes it all worthwhile. Respect, loyalty & teamwork indeed. I love my Westside family!
